1 out of 5 stars This toy sucks!   January 27, 2010

This is actually a kit you build with very small intricate pieces that takes a LONG time to put together. I ordered it and no where that I saw did it mention it is a model. I was disappointed with this order and didn't realize I only had 10 days to return it. Bummer! Unless you have an older child who is still into Star Wars and building models don't buy this toy.--

Trust me. I've assembled hundreds of models in my lifetime. I purchased this one for my son. He is six, so of course I was prepared to basically assemble it for him. Revell should reimburse everybody who bought this kit. The construction or instruction I can only describe as bizarre. Having to press fit on bushings and the legs of this thing was an unbelievable challenge. I used my channel locks to fir them together. The upper half was held to the lower by a flimsy ball joint which of course broke rendering the model unfixable w/o glue. I wanted something different than a vehicle but next time I'll know better. I'm more proud of myself for keeping my expletives in check.

For the price this is a remarkably detailed model kit. After comparing it to some CGI images I can say it is very accurate to the movie. If you've ever wondered what these AT-RTs looked like [other than their brief appearance in the film] you need to buy this. Not recommended for kids as it is delicate not suitable for play. With a little care, you should have no problems with assembly. Revell made an excellent kit.

I would not recommend this item to anyone. When I purchased this toy, I did not realize that it was a snap together model, so that was my first disappointment. I thought "Oh well I will put it together and see how it does". I broke a few pieces just trying to put it together because it is so flimsy and cheap. If someone were to give me this model, I would not take it. Not worth the time or money.
